Dinner Party

Here are some photos from a dinner party at my parents' the other night. Dennis and I constructed the menu and made the meal. :) It was a really lovely night.

Breaded and fried tofu with crushed chile pepper, barbecue sauce, and green onions.

Baked asparagus with olive oil, garlic, pumpkin seeds, lemon juice, salt and pepper.

Corn and edamame-sesame salad with toasted black sesame seeds, sesame oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce and salt in radicchio cups.

I've been lazy about taking photos of new outfits. But I plan on taking some soon!

Also, I recently found out that I was a finalist for the Rita Dove Poetry Award for one of my poems, which is pretty exciting! I don't get a publication or anything of that sort but I do get my name on a website: http://www.salem.edu/community/cww/2012-international-literary-awards. I also submitted a short story to the Hobart Buffalo Prize (crossing my fingers for the results!). Hope you're all enjoying the nice weather.

The land between solar systems

I went for a 1 1/2 hour hike today by myself, which was lovely lovely lovely. I went to The Gorge Metropark in Cuyahoga Falls, which I'd never been to, and it was beautiful! I posted some photos below (excuse the poor quality from my phone camera).

Also, some inspiration photos. I've really been into bohemian, tropical island, afghani, layered styles (yes, I just smashed them all together). I find myself constantly battling between dark/gothic styles and colorful/whimsical styles. I just love them both so much!

I start work at Pizza Hut tomorrow. It seems pretty laid back. Hopefully I can save up a little money for some hiking gear (...and a pair of Creepers :D). Photos found from ASOS, Lookbook, Endless, Etsy, and WishWantWear.
