Oy vey, it's been awhile

I'm still here! Not quite sane but still here.

Updates:
-I'm in the last year of working toward my MFA in Poetry (as much as I've learned here, I can't wait for it to be over).
-I recently shaved half of my head.
-I'm in the process of going au natural (starting with making my own shampoo/conditioner, then moving on to soaps and detergents and so on--also, I'm going to almost primarily eat foods found in nature [fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains]).
-I'm more confused than ever about my personal style. I guess I'm a mosaic of sorts (which may not be a bad thing).

I know I haven't written in a while! (To anyone who still reads this.) I've still been experimenting a lot with food and outfits--I just haven't been taking photos of any of them. Until I do, here is some clothing inspiration.

Also, I made some baba ganoush the other day. It may not look very pretty, but damn, is it delicious!

Dinner Party

Here are some photos from a dinner party at my parents' the other night. Dennis and I constructed the menu and made the meal. :) It was a really lovely night.

Breaded and fried tofu with crushed chile pepper, barbecue sauce, and green onions.

Baked asparagus with olive oil, garlic, pumpkin seeds, lemon juice, salt and pepper.

Edamame!

Corn and edamame-sesame salad with toasted black sesame seeds, sesame oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce and salt in radicchio cups.

Also, I recently found out that I was a finalist for the Rita Dove Poetry Award for one of my poems, which is pretty exciting! I don't get a publication or anything of that sort but I do get my name on a website: http://www.salem.edu/community/cww/2012-international-literary-awards. I also submitted a short story to the Hobart Buffalo Prize (crossing my fingers for the results!). Hope you're all enjoying the nice weather.
